A video circulating from Yellowstone National Park shows a bison charging toward a child who had approached the animal at a distance park rangers say was far closer than recommended.
No injuries were reported, but park officials used the incident to reiterate long-standing guidance that visitors stay at least 25 yards from bison and other large wildlife at all times.
Encounters of this kind spike during peak summer travel months, when visitor numbers climb and animals are more frequently spotted near trails, parking areas, and roadways.
